Get ready for the 2026 i-Land Fest Grand Parade!

Join us as downtown Victoria comes alive with the rhythm, colour, and spirit of the Caribbean. Expect vibrant costumes, high-energy vibes, and nonstop soca as we take over the streets in true carnival style.

Whether you’re playing mas or cheering from the sidelines, this is a celebration you don’t want to miss.

What to Expect
    • Loud music – this is a carnival parade, so expect powerful sound systems and nonstop soca music

Come & Play Mas!

Join the Rise of the Phoenix mas section by participating in our mas-making workshops!

This hands-on sessions give you the opportunity to design and create your own carnival headpiece, connect with community, and fully experience what it means to make mas and PLAY mas!

Once you’ve created your piece, you’ll take to the streets as part of the Rise of the Phoenix section in the i-Land Fest Grand Parade.

No costume? No problem—this is your way in.

FAQs

When and where is the parade happening?
The parade takes place on July 4, starting at 11:30 AM at Centennial Square.

We’ll make our way along Government Street (pedestrian area) and end at Ship Point around 1:30 PM.

Who can participate?
Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re part of the Caribbean community or just want to celebrate, you can join the parade.
Is there a cost to participate?
No—it’s completely free to register and participate.
What does it mean to “play mas”?
“Playing mas” is a Caribbean carnival tradition where participants dress in costumes, dance, and move through the streets as part of the parade. It’s all about celebration, culture, music, and self-expression.
Do I need a costume to join?

No, but costumes are encouraged! You can:

  1. Wear your own carnival costume
  2. Join the Rise of the Phoenix section
  3. Create or join a Mas Group
  4. Or simply come and enjoy the vibes
